Downgrade to 2.2081

FB Frame Counter and FB Lists run on Geometry Dash 2.2081 with Geode. If Steam updated your game, this puts 2.2081 back.

Before you start

You need to own Geometry Dash on Steam. Save your account to the cloud in the game first, and back up anything you care about: these steps replace game files. They assume Geometry Dash is in Steam's default folder; if yours is somewhere else, use your own paths.

Does the steps below for you and keeps backups of your game and saves.

Windows, by hand

  1. Open the Steam console: type this into your browser's address bar and allow it to open Steam.
    steam://open/console
  2. Paste this into the console, press Enter and wait for the download to finish. Permission error? Run Steam as administrator.

  3. Open this folder and copy everything inside it:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_322170\depot_322171
  4. Paste it into this folder and replace the files when asked:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Geometry Dash
  5. Stop Steam updating the game: in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps right-click appmanifest_322170.acf, choose Properties, tick Read-only, then Apply and OK.

Mac, by hand

Geode data is lost when you downgrade on a Mac.
  1. Open the Steam console: type this into your browser's address bar.
    steam://open/console
  2. Paste this into the console, press Enter and wait for the download.

  3. In Finder, press Cmd + Shift + . to show hidden files.
  4. Copy GeometryDash.app from:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/Steam.AppBundle/Steam/Contents/MacOS/steamapps/content/app_322170/depot_322172/
  5. Paste it here and replace the old one:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Geometry Dash
  6. Stop Steam updating the game: in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps right-click appmanifest_322170.acf, choose Get Info and tick Locked.

After the downgrade

Start Geometry Dash from Steam, then install Geode and the mods from Downloads.

If Geometry Dash gets a new update later, start it from GeometryDash.exe (Windows) or GeometryDash.app (Mac) in the game folder, or take off Read-only or Locked, let it update, and do these steps again.

Back to the newest version

Take off Read-only (Windows) or Locked (Mac) from appmanifest_322170.acf. In Steam, right-click Geometry Dash, open Properties, then Installed Files, and press Verify integrity of game files.
